Karan Johar denies Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol's on-screen comeback

A few days ago, the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ, 1995) jodi — Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol — made news again. The reason was their reported onscreen reunion in Karan Johar’s next film. But ask KJo about it and he sounds surprised.
“No, there’s nothing. Right now, my entire focus is on Student Of The Year (SOTY). In fact, I haven’t planned a thing (as far as his new venture goes) next. Everything you
read or hear is just conjecture,” says Karan, who last directed the pair in My Name Is Khan (2010).
It has been reported that he will cast the duo in his next romantic film. And since he always works on one film at a time, it won’t be announced before the end of the year and won’t begin rolling before early next year.
“Of course it would always be my biggest honour to work with Shah Rukh and Kajol who, I believe, is the best pair Hindi cinema has ever seen. I would always want to work with them, but there’s nothing on the cards,” insists Karan, who also did a cameo as one of SRK’s friends in DDLJ.
At the moment, Karan is busy with the post-production work on SOTY that doesn’t have any big star in the lead. Instead, the film will mark the launch of newcomers Alia Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter), Varun Dhawan (David Dhawan’s son) and model Siddharth Malhotra.
Rumours says SRK and Kajol are going to do a cameo while Rishi Kapoor will play a gay principal. This is KJo’s latest directorial venture after My Name Is Khan.

Wankhede row: Shah Rukh has Congress's protection, says Bal Thackeray

srknice2.jpg

Targeting Shah Rukh Khan over the Wankhede incident, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Saturday said the actor did not seem to mind the treatment given by airport authorities in the United States, but was ready to get into fracas in Mumbai, because "he has Congress's protection".
"Surprisingly, US security officers detain Shah Rukh Khan at the airport, frisk him, but he does not lose his cool. He goes there again and again to get humiliated. But he argues with humble security guards at Wankhede, because here he has the protection of the law, and of Congress," Thackeray said in his editorial in the Sena mouthpiece `Saamana'.
"Shah Rukh is a good actor, but his behaviour at parties, public events is controversial. Recently Saif Ali Khan too behaved this way. Perhaps that's why Centre gave him Padmashri. In that case, Shah Rukh deserves a bigger honour. Please do recommend him for President-nominated Member of Parliament," it said.
If Shah Rukh felt that the security guards misbehaved with him and insulted the kids of `a celebrity', he should have complained to the authorities at Wankhede Stadium. The guards would have been punished without any inquiry," Thackeray said.
Thackeray also appreciated the five-year ban on Shah Rukh's entry to the Wankhede Stadum and said that a lifetime ban should be imposed on him. The Shiv Sena supremo said that ban was reduced to five years due to pressure from New Delhi.
"If pressure comes from Delhi, it will be further reduced to five minutes," he quipped.
The editorial also contrasted Shah Rukh with other members of the film industry. "Amitabh Bachchan and his family members, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan are also celebrities. But one never hears of they getting into brawls under the influence of alcohol."
It also mentioned recent reports that Bachchan helped some Vidarbha farmers repay their debts. "How many actors have done this?" it asked.
"We wish Shah Rukh success as an actor. He should stay away from fights, brawls, bad language and Pakistan's advocacy," Thackeray said.
Sena had targeted Shah Rukh earlier over his remark that he would have liked to have Pakistani players in the IPL.
The MCA on Friday slapped a ban for five years on Shah Rukh from entering the Wankhede Stadium over his alleged bad behaviour at the stadium.
Shah Rukh, the co-owner of Indian Premier league (IPl) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), had allegedly misbehaved with security personnel and MCA officials Wednesday night.
Shah Rukh claimed the security guards manhandled the children he had brought to the stadium, which provoked him to protest.

Actors Rahul Bose, Arjun Kapoor, chef Ritu Dalmia and music composer Bappi Lahiri adopted a village each.
Actor Milind Soman also contributed towards Greenathon by running a 1500-km Green Run, starting April 20 from Qutub Minar in New Delhi, across five states.

Our spirit is solid: Shah Rukh Khan

srknice.jpg

New Delhi, May 24 -- Finally, Shah Rukh Khan's five-year-long wait has ended. His Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Kolkata Knight Riders, has entered the finals - after defeating Delhi Daredevils - for the first time in five years.
No wonder he celebrated deliriously - with somersaults and a victory lap - at the Subroto Roy Stadium in Pune on Tuesday even in the face of Rajasthan court summons and Wankhede ban. "The spirit and combination of our team is looking solid," says SRK, reinforcing the fact that no controversy will stop him from supporting the team on field. "Gautam (Gambhir; captain) has rallied the forces very well.
In a team game, the entire unit needs to come together. Like all the spheres in life, sometimes a leader puts them all together while at times the combination of 11 people hits the right note." Also, SRK feels over the years, some of the younger players like Manoj Tiwary, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Debabrata Das have matured. "We've sustained with them for years. For instance, Debabrata - like a few other young ones - has been with us for five years now. Also, we have made the size of our team much smaller this time around. So everyone knows that they have a chance to play," says the actor, who said he found it hard to believe that his team has reached the finals.
Beside Indian players, SRK admits that his "foreign players are so wonderfully talented" that management doesn't know who to bring in (the team). The actor says that Gautam is a huge force along with biggies like Jacques Kallis, Brendon McCullum and Shakib Al Hasan.
"Also, I feel the inclusion of Sunil Narine - whom Gautam suggested - has made KKR a very balanced team. Now, we have very good batsmen instead of, say, just three strong batters. Our batting order is till Brett Lee comes in," he says

Shah Rukh heads to Hollywood!

Last year, a huge buzz was created with reports that actor Shah Rukh Khan might play a role in Hollywood filmmaker
Martin Scorsese’s Xtrme City. But when Shah Rukh refused to confirm it, the news died down.
Now, after several months, the actor says he’s keyed up about the project and is keen to meet Scorsese. “I had been very caught up with RA.One, Don 2 and then I straightaway got into Yashji’s film. So, I could not take any time off for Xtrme City. I haven’t spoken to anyone for a long time (regarding the project). A couple of days back though, I was informed that I need to send an email (about the film),” says Shah Rukh. He adds, “Yes, maybe when I am in the US next time without facing many problems (laughs), I plan to go and meet Mr Scorsese to see what development has happened to it. I haven’t been in touch with Mr Scorsese. But I am sure it will be an interesting film whenever we start it. It’s not a project that you can start immediately without thorough preparation,” he says.
To be produced by the multiple Oscar-winning Scorsese, Xtrme City is to be directed by screenwriter Paul Schrader of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull fame. The film is a cross-cultural thriller, a tale about two men from radically different worlds. While SRK is likely to essay the role of an underworld gangster, makers are trying to rope in Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio to play a New York cop. SRK’s friend Mushtaq Sheikh has co-written the script of the film.
SRK also confirms plans to make a sequel to his last year’s RA.One. “Yes, I want to make RA.One 2. I believe that our company has the best VFX unit in India. It would be a big waste if we don’t utilise it to push the parameters of what we do in India.
At this point, I don’t have a story but last night, I was sitting in my new office and thought, ‘we have to make it (sequel).’ So inshallah, once I come up with the story that can take it (story) forward, I will take it up,” says the actor.
Excerpts from interview:
Have you thought about a RA.One sequel in detail?
Many people didn’t seem to like RA.One (laughs). I am a very resilient and a tough person in terms of wanting to do certain things. It’s difficult to make such films. They are very expensive and involve a lot of hard work. But I believe in the adage, ‘no pain, no gain.’ Surely, I need to make it.
These days, you seem to be very busy...
Yes. I am working on other films. I will finish Yashji’s (Chopra) film and then take a small break with my kids. And maybe, five-six months later, I will start work on other projects.
But you personally never talk about your films?
I never talk about my films beforehand, only when they are releasing. There are so many fools who talk about my films in print. I have always believed that I have a very personal relationship with my work. I discuss it very openly. But lately, I have noticed that there are so many comments on the films I am making. It makes me think, ‘Okay, since they know, let them talk about it. I will talk only when my film is ready.’
Are you bothered when you hear rumours about your films?
Every day I hear, ‘ye cast hain, usne usko nikal diya aur picture delay ho gaya’ (this is the cast, this person has been dropped from the film and it is delayed). And I find it all very stupid. It’s very pious, important and difficult work for us. This is what I do for a living. When people talk about it frivolously, I am like, ‘Let me make my film. When I am ready with it, I will tell people about it.’ It’s important to make a film first and then tell people about it.
We heard you are toning up for Chennai Express...
Right now, we are in the pre-production stage. And I have always had a toned body. With Rohit Shetty’s film, which seems like an out-and-out comedy, it’s very unlikely that I will tone up my body. I don’t want to clarify each and everything that has been written.
You are also working with Farah (Khan) again?
Yes. I will start pre-production on the film from next month onwards. Due to the IPL, I haven’t had the time to work on it. But Farah has been very busy with that project. Inshallah, it will start as soon as we feel that it’s ready for production.
Is there a film called A for Apple, B for Ball that you are going to act in?
That’s right. A friend of mine has written the script of the film. He was my senior in Jamia Milia college (Delhi). I found the story very interesting. It’s a very well-written script, but I am also working on it. What happens, sometimes, is that you like the basic idea, but you need to work on it and put in all the production arrangements (before starting it). Actually, we are shifting to a new office. So we needed to take a break for a few months because we started work on two-three films.
On a different note, do you feel bad about the constant controversies surrounding your visits to the US?
It’s my decision to go to a particular place. And if they (US authorities) have certain rules, regulations or a particular system and process, then there’s nothing to feel bad about. Who the hell am I to suggest that these systems and processes should function in a different way? I can’t tell them not to catch the same person every time. It’s all right. If I talk about it, people feel I am trying to garner stupid publicity. If I decide to go to a place, I have to follow their rules and regulations. I should be ready for it or make a few calls before I go. I will do it the next time. It’s not something that bothers me. Instead, it bothers people around me.
Your IPL team is doing very well this year...
When it’s a game that involves teamwork, the entire unit needs to come together. Plus, this time around, we have made the strength of the team smaller. So everyone knows they have a chance to play. But most importantly, I think it’s the spirit and combination that’s looking good. Gautam (Gambhir) is a big force along with others such as Brendon McCullum and Jacques Kallis. And the inclusion of Sunil Narine, which Gautam suggested, brought steady balance to the team.
Is it true that Tag Heuer is designing a watch especially for Yashji’s film?
Yes. I just asked them to give me a watch for the film. If I have to wear one in a film, I would rather wear something from this brand. I have done that in my previous films also, such as Don 2 or RA.One. Sometimes they even design special stuff for us if they have a similar prototype. For Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, they got me a watch made in the 1920-30s because my character, Suri, wasn’t supposed to wear a heavy-duty watch.

SRK, Ajay Devgn to clash on Diwali!

srkajaydevgan.jpg

Bollywood is gearing up for a battle royale. This Diwali, Ajay Devgn’s home production, SOS — Son Of Sardar, takes on Yash Chopra’s untitled comeback movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Ajay’s unperturbed by the competition, saying there’s space for two films on the big weekend.
“Diwali’s been lucky for me with films like Golmaal Returns (2008), All The Best (2009) and Golmaal 3. Rascals (2011), that released last Dussera, had a vulgar streak, I’ll never do a film like that again,” says Ajay. “I don’t know about their (YRF’s) film, but SOS is a comic love story with lots of action, a perfect festival film.”
Ajay Devgn in Tezz
Meanwhile, Tezz that was to arrive on December 23, then January 26 and March 23, is finally opening today. Given that Ajay has no plans to avoid a Diwali clash with SRK, why was he hesitant to take on Don 2, Agneepath and Agent Vinod?
“There was no way Tezz could have come out before. Even though I finished it before leaving for a two-month SOS schedule, the film was not ready till March,” says Ajay. “I was mentally prepared for an April release.”
Tezz has action stunts designed by the Hollywood duo Gareth Milne (Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Identity) and Peter Pedrero (stunt co-ordinator of The Bourne Supremacy and has worked on the Harry Potter series). Typically Ajay hasn’t been talking about them.
“For me, a technician is a technician. There’s no dearth of them in India. With Hollywood’s budgets and equipment they’d be good. Tezz has some risky stunts but I’m comfortable doing action. It’s easier than dancing!” he grins.
But there’ll be plenty of ‘ta-thaiaya’ dancing in the Himmatwala remake that starts in August. He smiles, “Our Himmatwala is a typical ‘masala’ action movie.”
Action is the keyword with Tezz, Bol Bachchan, Himmatwala and SOS all packing a punch, along with Singham Returns. A sequel to last year’s blockbuster is on the way. He confirms, “Yes, we’re working on the Singham 2 script. It may roll next year.”

SRK, Abhishek bury the hatchet!

srkabhishek.jpg

King Khan is on a patch-up spree. After extending olive branch to Farah Khan and Juhi Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan has now decided to bury all differences with Abhishek Bachchan. If sources are to be believed, SRK and Abhishek would work together in Farah's Happy New Year after Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, reports Mumbai Mirror.
SRK and Abhishek have shared an icy vibe since the time Ash was dropped from Chalte Chalte, due to Salman's rash behaviour on the sets of the film. SRK was not invited to Abhi-Ash wedding which soured their relation further.
The actors then reportedly patched up at KJo's party.
Last year Abhishek turned up at SRK's party, wearing Mumbai Indians jersey, right after Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders got knocked out of the tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
But now, it seems the actors have decided to forget the past.

Salman congratulates Sachin, takes a dig at Shah Rukh!

salmansrk1.jpg

There is no end to Salman-Shah Rukh war. At Mukesh Ambani's bash in Sachin Tendulkar's honour, Salman left everyone in splits when he was called on stage to congratulate the cricketer for his 100th ton.
The Dabangg Khan in his trademark style said: "Sachin ka record todna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai. Aur yeh Don nahi main bol raha hu."
He went on to clarify that his dad Salim Khan had written the dialogues for Amitabh Bachchan starrer: "Bol bhi sakta hu kyunki mere father ne likhi hai picture (original Don). Rights toh legally unhi ke paas hai, Amitji ne ki hai yeh picture, itna toh haq banta hai."
Once upon a time in the 1990s, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan called each other brothers. But now the rivalry between the two is out in open. While Salman says 'SRK and I can never be friends,' SRK thinks 'Salman and I don't talk which is absolutely right.'
Things apparently got ugly at Katrina Kaif's birthday bash in 2008. It is believed that SRK made inappropriate comments about Salman's ex-flame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which annoyed him.
King Khan in an interview had said that Salman got angry because he turned down cameo in Main Aur Mrs Khanna (while Salman agreed to do a guest appearance in Om Shanti Om). Salman in turn had said he never offered him the film, adding, "Shah Rukh was like my brother. He used to call me sir, sir during his struggling days."
In 2011, on Koffee With Karan, SRK publicly apologised to the actor saying: "If Salman is angry with me, it is 100% my fault." However, Salman retorted saying SRK's apology was for TRPs.
The two have worked together in Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Har Dil jo Pyaar Karega, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam and Om Shanti Om.

SRK-Anushka in Farah Khan's next!

anushkasrk1.JPG

The Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi pair is set to sizzle on screen again. After signing on SRK post patch-up, choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan has apparently roped in Anushka Sharma for her next, reports Mid Day.
Anushka who's quite excited about the project has reportedly given her nod, as per the tabloid. Buzz is that SRK might have recommended his Rab Ne.. co-star's name.
"Farah obviously wants someone big in the film; someone who is hot and happening. Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were the obvious choices but Anushka has won the race," a source told the tabloid.
"Farah too is quite fond of Anushka. She was quite impressed by her dancing abilities in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi," the source added.
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma would also be seen together in YRF's yet-untitled movie.
SRK-Anushka's on screen magic
The duo set the silver screen on fire with their chemistry in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, that translated into box-office returns too. The newbie matched SRK's on-screen charisma with elan and another hit jodi was made.
SRK-Anushka's off screen chemistry
They are fond of each other in personal life too. It is to be recalled that SRK planted a kiss on Anushka's cheek while introducing the newcomer to Bollywood during the promotion of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. And Anushka didn't mind it too. She was simply bowled over by King Khan's gesture.
So will they create magic again?
With SRK's smashing comeback in Ra.One and Don 2 and Anushka's soaring career with films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Band Baaja Baaraat, both the actors are in their top form and that should create enough buzz about the film.

SRK, Katrina mobbed at Mumbai airport

srkkatrina1.jpg

Though SRK and Katrina arrived at the Mumbai airport in the early hours, a mini mob was waiting outside to greet the stars, reports Mail Today. "Shah Rukh and Katrina chose to leave from the main exit gate, which was strange. They could have left from the private exit meant for VIPs. It could be that the film's publicists want the two superstars to be seen together frequently before the release," an eyewitness told the daily.
While Katrina was dressed in a loose black lowers teamed with a pale seagreen summer jacket and a sleeveless black tee, SRK wore a black leather jacket, white Tshirt and denims.
The London stint of the film began on February 22 and included filming at Borough Market, Jubilee Walk, the Tower Bridge and Canary Warf.
The yet-to-be titled film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, started shooting for its first schedule in the third week of February in London. It has been creating a huge buzz all over since the first look was unveiled. And the chemistry between SRK and Katrina who have paired up for the first time is simply superb!
SRK is excited about pairing up with Katrina for the first time. “I’ve just started working with Katrina (actor Katrina Kaif). She puts in a lot of effort to make her character look and sound believable,” said Shah Rukh in a recent HT interview.

SRK's Family to fly down!

Mumbai, March. 6 -- Bechara Shah Rukh Khan, sighs my Nautanki Naari from Lokhandwala. The actor who has been in London for two weeks now, shooting with Yash Chopra and Katrina Kaif, is missing his kids Aryan and Suhana and wife Gauri a lot.
My lady jasoos says that he had a day off, thanks to the untimely rains. So, he made a full-fledged plan to fly them to London and have them with him, hopefully till he wraps the schedule by the end of March. He wants to spend time with his sonny, cycle around with his little daughter, and read her poetries and stories.

Shah Rukh Khan game for RA.One sequel

Shah Rukh Khan is overjoyed that his ‘baby’, RA.One, has bagged a National Award for special effects. Even before the movie released last Diwali, speculation about a sequel was rife and SRK in an earlier interview didn’t deny that he’d like to take the idea forward, even though not many critics thought the film should have been made the way it was.
“I’ve invested a lot of time into making this film and have created a technology over nine years. I think it needs to be exploited a little more,” he reasoned.
The next film, the star-producer pointed out, would however not be called RA.Two as the buzz went, but G.One because the formality of introducing a superhero genre is over and done with. Now, if RA.One were to move ahead, it would be with G.One, Shah Rukh’s own character, as kids all over the country have been making him sign autographs as G.One since the film released last Diwali.
Insisted Shah Rukh, “If Anubhav (Anubhav Sinha, writer-director of RA.One), anyone else in the company (Red Chillies Entertainment) or even someone from outside comes up with a story idea that can take the thought beyond, I’m game for it. My friends may also send me some scripts.”
Don 2 took six years to come along, will G.One arrive sooner? Shah argued that Don was never envisaged as a franchise and even Hrithik’s superhero sequel, currently being shot, flagged off six years after Krrish (2006).
“If I had a script today, which I don’t, it would take me at least 15 months to redraft it and finalise the cast and crew. A film like this requires a year-and-a-half of pre-production, so it’s impossible for me to give you a time frame. I’m unsure if it’ll even get made or if I’ll use the technology in some other genre,” said Shah Rukh, admitting that despite the fact that he has nothing now, he would still like to make a sequel since he hasn’t explored everything in the genre. “I know it is going to be expensive, but perhaps the next film would be cheaper since I now have the technology. Bigger and better too, I hope. But I have to have a story idea first.”

YRF’s Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer titled ‘London Ishq’

After a long wait, Yash Raj Films’ most awaited film finally gets christened. Although we are a li’l disapopointed with the choice of the title, we hope the film eventually lives up to our expectations

It’s pretty obvious why this romantic flick from the Yash Raj Films’ stable is already creating waves. It’s definitely the Shahrukh Khan-Katrina Kaif pairing and the fact that Yash Chopra is returning to direction after years, that is getting the film the much needed attention. The release date hasn’t been finalised yet and the only sneak peek we got into the film was through a couple of stills. And as of now the movie looks like an out-an-out romantic flick with a complicated love triangle where Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif are all set to coochie-coo with King Khan.
Also the first look of the film gives us an impression that King Khan is gearing up to get back into his quintessential musical romantic hero avatar. After portraying the cool superhero and the dashing Don, seems like SRK has finally realised that he should stick to what he does best- romance his heroines atop snow-clad mountains! What’s interesting is that Anushka’s character and her look haven’t been revealed yet. The mysterious girl has been missing from the posters and first look of the film. Anushka hasn’t even shot for her portions yet!
Anyway, we were eagerly waiting to find out what this anticipated love story will be titled and must say that London Ishq is just not exciting enough. Let’s hope the think tank at Yash Raj Films’ changes their mind! Let us know if you like this title?

SRK, sari are a hit with Japanese designers!

The visiting Japanese designers at the ongoing fashion week, say that they would like to have Shah Rukh Khan on their ramp and see Lady Gaga in an Indian sari.
Yu Yumada, producer of the Tokyo Culture exhibit that will put together a special show, Tokyo fashion week on Saturday, at the fashion week says, “Shah Rukh Khan is popular in Japan. His recent film Ra.One has inspired many Japanese robot toys. It will be fun to see him on ramp, I would dress him in typical print shirts, worn by Japanese comedians. He is a cool guy and will carry it well.”
Besides Bollywood, the visiting Japanese designers are also impressed with the Indian sari. “When Lady Gaga came to Japan last year she wore a kimono, but I think she would carry off a sari superbly,” says Hiroko Takahashi, designer, Hirocoledge, adding, “It’s great to see Indians taking pride in their heritage fashion. There are so many saris on the runway, unfortunately we don’t see our heritage dress kimono on the Japanese runway.” Yumada agrees, “It’s sad but we don’t see a single kimono in our fashion shows.” Takahashi adds, “I Iove the sari and have already brought two saris from Khan market.”

SRK-Katrina spotted shooting for YRF!

katrinasrknewfilm.jpg

Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif were spotted shooting for Yash Chopra's comeback film in London. While SRK looked old and exhausted in the leaked snaps from the film sets, Katrina wasn't clearly visible. However, the beauty is expected to look stunning as ever.
Shah Rukh Khan is romancing arch rival Salman Khan's ex-flame for the first time. His Rab Ne Banadi Jodi lady Anushka Sharma will also feature in the film.
"Katrina puts in a lot of effort to make her character look and sound believable. I'm working with Yashji after a long time and it's been a breeze," said the RA.One star.
SRK shoots for Yash Chopra's next in London.
Yash Chopra is returning to direction after a gap of seven years. He has directed Shah Rukh earlier in Darr (1993), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Veer-Zaara (2004). These are also his last three directorial ventures.
The romantic film went on the floors on January 9. Details including the film's storyline and music are being kept under wraps as of now.
The much-awaited fim is set for a Diwali 2012 release. After RA.One, it will be SRK's second Diwali release in continuity.
SRK-Kat's chemistry
SRK gave a glimpse of his chemistry with Katrina at an award show where he raised eyeballs when he kissed the actor on her left cheek.
"We haven't become best friends but she's a nice girl to work with. And we never dig into the past (the popular Salman-SRK squabble)," he said.
Katrina is working with SRK and Salman (Ek Tha Tiger) in the same calendar year.
"I don't take work from one set to the other. Shah Rukh and Salman are my co-stars and I respect them equally and immensely," she said.

Reason: he was glued to his TV set all of Sunday evening to watch the Indian team qualify for the Olympics. Huh? So birdy insists that he has suddenly been reminded of his days as coach Kabir Khan on the sets of Chak De! India.

Why did SRK call himself stupid?

Why did SRK call himself stupid?

We all know that Shahrukh Khan’s role in Devdas, a doomed lover, was initially played by Dilip Kumar in the 1955 film of the same name. Well, SRK feels, Dilip Kumar cannot be imitated.

“You can’t imitate Mr Dilip Kumar. Whoever copies Dilip Kumar, they are idiots like me.” Shahrukh was at the launch of Nasreen Munni Kabir’s book “The Dialogue of Devdas”.

Dilip Kumar was invited to the event too. However, the star couldn’t make it, but he did send a letter and Shahrukh Khan read it out at the event at the Mehboob Studios.

Now, after almost 6 years for the film, SRK feels it was stupidity on his part to do Devdas.

“I am not someone who would like to do something which has been so beautifully crafted. I have a very deep regard for the fact that my parents loved ‘Devdas’. I was very young and stupid that I said yes and did it, but as I am getting mature, hopefully more intelligent, and perhaps would not be able to do it this time,” the 46-year-old actor said.

Shahrukh also reveals that he did not watch Dilip Kumar’s version of Devdas. Had he watched the film, he would have never done the remake.
“Had we seen the film before making it, we would never had the guts to make it. Sanjay, Aishwarya and Madhuri we all felt that first we should finish the film then we should watch it,” he said.

Don 2: The King is Back on the Red Carpet at Berlinale

Not only were we at the press conference for Don 2 at Berlinale, we were also on the red carpet for the Don 2 premiere. Don 2‘s premiere was set for a cold Saturday night at 9:30pm with the stars were expected to arrive around 9pm. However, the German fans made sure they got there early. In case you did not know, Shah Rukh Khan and Bollywood are very, very, very popular in Germany.
German fans (with no Asian or Middle Eastern background), of Shah Rukh Khan started waiting at the red carpet from 11am in the freezing cold. For most people this may seem like a crazy thing to do – to wait for hours in the freezing cold for an actor, but for these women it’s nothing more than normal. They just want to enjoy a few seconds with the man who brings them joy, sadness, makes them dance and love through his films. His personality, his acting, his smile, his eyes and his love for his family are other aspects that are loved by his fans. Shah Rukh Khan is a feeling that cannot be explained in words, but only felt in real or reel life. The love for this man goes deep. One fan told me: “He is like fine, good wine. He gets better and looks better when he gets older.”
They love him as a loverboy in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi GhamKal Ho Naa HoRab Ne Bana Di Jodi, but they really enjoyed his bad boy act in Don 2 as well. Most of these fans have not yet seen Don 2, which will play in over 40 cinema’s in Germany, and are waiting to experience the chemistry between SRK and Priyanka Chopra of which they have heard so much about.
The media started coming in around an hour before the premiere. And then at around 9pm director Farhan Akhtar, star Priyanka Chopra and producer Ritesh Sidhwani walked the red carpet, greeted the fans and talked to the media.

Ritesh told us that he was really happy being back in Berlin as it felt like a second home to him. “We have been shooting here for soo long so it feels like a second home.” And though it was freezing Ritesh seemed to enjoy the cold. “Its very cold, You know, we don’t get to enjoy this back home in India, so but its ok for just two or three days.”
What is the one trademark of Don you can relate to or wish you had?
Ritesh: “The thing is… I don’t know about one particular trade, what is most interesting is the one-liners which Don has, The Don Says. So he got some really cool dialogues in the film which is new in the way Farhan has written. He just replies to you in one line and that says it all.”
For Priyanka, we asked her the same question but of course relating this to her character of Roma. Priyanka: “Her strenght. She has a lot of strenght and courage as a girl.”
After they left inside to watch the film, fans outside were shouting for SRK, who hadn’t arrived yet. On Twitter he placed a message that his plane got cancelled and is going to get there on a private plane. Everyone started speculating what time his flight will land and when he will arrive for the red carpet. Everybody kept a close eye on his Twitter-account hoping he would tweet when he landed.
And after two and a half hours the King himself appeared on the red carpet with his wife. Even though they were almost frozen solid, the fans were estatic and screamed their lungs out once they spotted him. The press was wide awake and everybody just simply forgot about how cold it was. He walked on the red carpet with his wife, posed for pictures and went straight to the door.
He dropped his wife at the entrance and went back to the beginning of the red carpet and started to meet each and every fan who had been waiting for so many hours to catch a glimpse of him. He signed autographs, got pictures taken, received many hugs and kisses and worked his way towards the media, who jumped on him as well.
He couldn’t stay to chat for too long though, as the film screening had almost ended and he had to be inside for another interview and deliver a short speech after the film.
He greeted the last set of fans and went inside. I had bought a ticket for the film (which unfortunately I couldn’t see as I was waiting for The Don) but I still managed to get inside. The film had just ended and the cast and crew were introduced and Khan got the loudest cheers when he made his entry.

Germany just simply loves THE KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SRK, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma not told ending to own film

Shah Rukh KhanKatrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma have not been told how their new untitled love triangle project ends.

Director Yash Chopra plans to keep the climax a secret for as long as possible from audiences as well as the cast, Mumbai Mirror claims.

RA.One premiere: Shah Rukh KhanKatrina Kaif

"Which one of the two ladies finally gets the guy is not known to anyone except Yashji and Aditya Chopra. Even Shah Rukh Khan, who's very close to him, has not been told," said a production source.

The 79-year-old filmmaker is expected to begin shooting the first UK schedule of the production within the next few weeks.

"It's a love triangle set in London, where the three actors play contemporary working-class characters. The treatment of love is very mature," added the source.

"Katrina is not the 'looker' and Anushka the 'actor' in the script. Katrina has one of the most challenging roles of her career."

The film's soundtrack has been composed by award-winning music director AR Rahman.
